Neurax software is available in three versions: Neurax Pro v5.0, v4.0, and Neurax Standard v3.1, with corresponding file types (NRP, NRX, XRD) costing from $0.25 to $14. Users download software and data files from brisnet.com, save them in designated folders, and process races via the software. Troubleshooting involves verifying file integrity and correct file types. Exotic Results files can be combined with Neurax data files to create DataSets within the software.

How to download and install software
- Go to brisnet.com and select the “Free Software” tab located at the top left hand corner of the screen.
- Select Neurax or Neurax Pro from the list of titles. This will take you to a screen with an explanation of each of the three different versions of the software.
- Click on the download link below the version which you wish to install. User manual downloads are also available here.
- Have the customer tell you the installation prompts that come up on their screen and walk them through the process.
- Once the installation is finished, it should put a Neurax icon on their desktop or will add it to the programs list in their start menu.
Common Installation Error
On Windows 7 or Windows 8, you may encounter an error message during installation that says “installneurax31.exe/installneuraxpro4.exe/installneuraxpro5.exe stopped working” leading you to believe that the installation has failed.
- Check the C: drive to see if the Neurax31/Neurax Pro 4/Neurax Pro 5 (depending on the version you are trying to install) folder is there.
- If the folder is there, the program is successfully installed.
- You will have to manually create a desktop shortcut for the program from the Start menu (or search menu on Windows 8).
- Once you run Neurax for the first time, the DATASETS and other folders will be created for you in the Neurax folder on the C: drive.
How to download Neurax files
Neurax or Neurax Pro Data Files (NRX or NRP)
- Go to brisnet.com and select the "Selections, Programs & PPs" tab located on the top left of the screen.
- Select "Software Data Files" and select Neurax or Neurax Pro data files.
- From there, choose a track and date.
- When you right-click on the date and click “Save Target As” (IE) or “Save Link As” (Chrome & Firefox), you will be prompted to save the file. Please note: you have to be signed in on the Brisnet site already in order for this to work. Otherwise, you will download a useless html file.
- You can save it in a folder called DATASETS in the Neurax folder on the C: drive. All future instructions in this document will assume that you have saved your data file to this folder.

- Go to brisnet.com and select the "Results & Charts" tab located on the top left of the screen.
- Select "Exotic Results Files”
- From there, choose a track and date.

Troubleshooting
If a customer is experiencing issues with a file
- Try downloading the same file and process it using the steps above on your own computer.
- If no error messages occur after you try these steps on your own computer, then the file is fully functional.
- Run through the steps with the customer to make sure they are performing them correctly.
If customer is still unable to process the file
- Have them delete their version of the file from their DATASETS folder.
- Instruct them to go to Brisnet.com and walk them through re-downloading the file.
- Make sure they are downloading the correct type of Neurax file for the version of Neurax on their computer (NRX for Neurax, NRP for Neurax Pro).
- If they are downloading the incorrect file type, be sure to let them know about the price difference. They may opt to change Neurax software versions instead.
- Put in a BRIS credit request for the incorrect file so they do not get charged for both file formats. Let them know you are doing this.
- Walk them through the processing steps.
- As a last resort, you can email them your copy of the data file.
- If you are connected to the customer via join.me, you can use it to transfer your copy of the file to them. (Also a last resort.)
