To download and install All-Ways software, visit brisnet.com under "Free Software," download the installer, and follow prompts. Save data files to the FRANDATA folder (C:\Frandata). To process files, unzip them in All-Ways, then process into the database. For exotic results, download from brisnet.com or twinspires.com, unzip, and enter results using track codes. Use Chrome for downloads on Windows 8 or higher. If errors occur, re-download files and replace them in FRANDATA.
How to download and install software
To download All-Ways go to brisnet.com and access the “Free Software” tab located at the top left hand corner of the screen and select All-Ways from there.
To begin the installation locate the link that looks like: Download: ALL-Ways 14.1.3 Installation Software (14.6MB) (New)
Have the customer tell you the installation prompts that come up on their screen and walk them through the process.
Once the installation is finished it should put an All-Ways icon on their desktop or will add it to the programs list in their start menu.
Possible problems: If the customer is using Windows 8 or higher they may not be able to do the download on Internet Explorer. If possible, use Google Chrome to do the download.
How to download ALL-Ways files for the first time
After All-Ways has been properly installed you can begin to process a file and help the customer with the basics of this procedure.
- Go to the brisnet.com website or twinspires.com website and go to the section labeled “All-Ways Data Files”
- Whatever file the customer decides to download you need to make sure it gets saved in the FRANDATA folder. This can be located by going to Computer/My Computer>Local Disk (C:)>Frandata
- Most browsers will save any file to their Downloads folder. To ensure that it gets saved to the Frandata folder, have the customer left-click on the file date and depending on which browser they will select “Save Link As” or “Save Target As.” From there it will prompt you with a save box and you can direct the customer to the frandata folder and select save.
How to process files/verify they are not corrupt:
- Open up the All-Ways software and select start
- Select Toolbox
- Select UNZIP in red
- Select UNZIP ONE DATA FILE
- There will be a blue box on the right side of the program that will list all available files to unzip, select the name of the file you just downloaded
- In the middle select go unzip and click ok when you get the message saying the unzip was successful
- Select MAIN MENU at the bottom of the program
- From here we’re going to actually process the file so that the information gets added to the database. Select DATABASE
- Select PROCESS DATA FILE
- Select PROCESS ONE DATA FILE
- In the blue box on the right side of the program select the name of the file you just unzipped
- Select FILE OK directly to the left of the blue box
- Select GO at the bottom
If no error messages occur after any of these steps, the file is fully functional and this is really the most trouble shooting you will have to do for the customer. If they are unable to process their file after following these instructions the download may not have completed on their computer. Have them delete their version of the file from their FRANDATA folder and email them your copy.
Processing Exotic Results Files:
- The exotic results files can be found on brisnet.com or twinspires.com under Results and Charts
- You will follow the same steps as you did with downloading the all-ways files, everything pertaining to All-Ways goes into the FRANDATA folder
- Open All-Ways and select START
- Follow the previous steps 2-7 to unzip the results file
- Once on the Main menu, select DATABASE
- Select ENTER RESULTS
- In the blue box beside TRACK OK enter in the 3 letter track code. Example: Parx=PRX
- Select track OK
- From here you can select race OK and enter the results in individually or Select AUTO ONE
